How
to reference files on this site
Your local regulations might be slightly different, but in general, you need: Author
-- in all cases except where specified, the author is Harris, D. Make
sure you get the names of authors of files on colleagues' pages or
guests' pages
Date -- it is usually acceptable to put <(nodate)> for web files. If you must have a date email me and I'll make one up (joke). If you have a list of files with the same author but no date, I suppose you put <Harris, D. (no date 1)>, <Harris, D. (no date 2)> and so on. Ask your librarians. Title -- put the title of the file as it appears, usually in single quote marks Indication of online status -- the usual way is to put <[online]> Website address -- http://www.arasite.org/ plus filename Date accessed -- when you logged on, eg August 25th 2005 So... a reference for the file on McDonaldization would look like this: Harris, D. (no date) 'On Mcdonaldisation' [online] http://www.arasite.org/mcdisn.htm. Accessed August 25th 2005 Make a final check with your local regulations. |
