Recent Leisure and Tourism graduate with research skills and substantial business development experience, entering masters programme in Tourism and Social Responsibility.  Seeking tourism development research project on which to work.

Career goal:  To promote effective sustainable tourism planning and development in the Westcountry

Travelled extensively throughout Europe from the age of 16.  Most travel independently arranged using car or motorcycle.  Lived in South of France for a short period, and in Gibraltar for a year, managing a superyacht with my husband and teaching English, European History and Art.

1986-1996 Partner:  Goldline Engineering, and also Marine Services Ltd. Fully involved in all aspects of business development and administration (including VAT returns, PAYE, book-keeping etc.) from start-up to sale of successful SMEs.
1981-1986 Administration Clerk:  Scottish Equitable Life Assurance Society. Responsible for all office organisation and operations, including training of staff and selling financial products and services.
1979-1981 Assistant Secretary:  Accounts Department, The Wrigley Company. Bought ledger, spreadsheets, wages, pensions. 
1978-1979 Office Junior: Customer Services Department, The Wrigley Company  General secretarial duties.

Education and Qualifications

2000 - BA (Hons) Degree in Leisure and Tourism with Art and Design (2.1),  Exeter University at the College of St. Mark and St. John in Plymouth
1996 - BTEC Diploma in Art and Design (pass with credit),  Falmouth College of Arts at Saltash
1979 - RSA typing (grade II), shorthand (50 wpm)
1978 - 6 GCE ‘O’ Level equivalents at grade (C) and above including Maths and  English Language 

Interests and Activities

Travel, arts, swimming, walking, driving.  Would like to learn to play golf and improve my Spanish.
